Power generation projects require equipment built around defined operating conditions, material specifications and installation requirements. As a Canadian power generation pressure vessel manufacturer, Alps Welding supports EPCs, equipment designers and end users with custom fabrication and mechanical engineering support.
From our facility in Woodbridge, Ontario, we manufacture pressure vessels, heat exchangers and packaged equipment to meet customer specifications. Whether you need a standalone vessel or an integrated assembly, our team can review your requirements and help prepare your equipment for fabrication.
Custom Equipment for Power Generation Projects
Pressure Vessels for Power Generation
Alps Welding manufactures custom pressure vessels with dimensions, materials, connections and internal components specified for the application. Our capabilities include carbon steel and stainless steel fabrication, supported by mechanical calculations and fabrication drawings where required.
Our published power generation pressure vessel project illustrates this work: a carbon steel vessel with stainless steel internals fabricated for a water treatment application in the power generation industry.
Heat Exchangers and Condensers
We fabricate custom heat exchangers and condensers to customer requirements, with mechanical engineering support available for the equipment we manufacture.
Our experience includes a steam turbine surface condenser package, for which Alps fabricated the condenser, support skid and piping spools, then integrated the associated components. This project brought equipment fabrication and package assembly together within one coordinated scope.

Skid Packages and Modular Assemblies
For projects involving multiple connected components, Alps Welding provides skid fabrication and modular assembly. Depending on the project scope, this can include structural supports, vessels, piping, equipment installation, insulation and electrical wiring.
Our modular plant fabrication experience includes a power-generation project comprising 16 transportable modules. Shop assembly and trial fitting help verify how components fit together before shipment.
Engineering Support for Your Fabrication Scope
A clear equipment specification helps establish the requirements for fabrication, inspection and delivery. Alps Welding provides mechanical engineering support for vessels and heat exchangers we fabricate, including:
- Mechanical design and calculations.
- Verification against ASME Section VIII, Division 1 requirements.
- 3D modelling and fabrication drawings.
- Support for CRN and ASME/National Board registration, as applicable.
- Review of additional customer and end-user specifications.
We work with your process requirements and available design information to define the mechanical fabrication scope.
Fabrication Capacity for Large Industrial Equipment
Our 90,000-square-foot facility provides space for large equipment fabrication and assembly, with segregated carbon steel and stainless steel manufacturing areas.
Our published capabilities include a shipping envelope of 18 feet by 18 feet and a maximum equipment weight of 150,000 pounds. Equipment dimensions, handling needs and shipping arrangements are reviewed as part of the project scope.
