Trusted Hastelloy Fabrication for Demanding Applications

Alps Welding provides custom Hastelloy fabrication for industrial process equipment and components. Based in Woodbridge, Ontario, we work with EPCs, equipment designers and industrial end users to manufacture to project drawings and material specifications.

As a Hastelloy equipment manufacturer, we can review your requirements for individual alloy components or equipment incorporating Hastelloy alongside other specified materials.

Why Hastelloy Is Used in Industrial Equipment

Corrosion-resistant HASTELLOY® grades are nickel-based alloys used where process conditions call for resistance to aggressive chemicals. Depending on the grade and environment, these alloys can resist general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.

Hastelloy is a family of alloys, so the exact grade should be specified for the intended service. Specifically, the process fluid, chemical concentration, and operating temperature are among the factors that affect material suitability.

Custom Hastelloy Equipment and Components

Fabrication to Your Specifications

Our broader fabrication capabilities include pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping and custom process assemblies. For projects specifying Hastelloy, we review which components require the alloy and establish the fabrication, joining and inspection requirements for that scope.

Your equipment may require Hastelloy in selected components or throughout an assembly. Therefore, identifying the material for each component helps define purchasing, fabrication and documentation requirements.

Hastelloy Ring Fabrication

The Hastelloy ring shown here measures 57 inches in outside diameter with a specified thickness of 2.87 mm. Generally, it provides a practical example of our work with specialty alloy components for custom equipment.

Dedicated Stainless Steel and Nonferrous Alloy Shop

Our stainless steel and non-ferrous alloy shop provides dedicated space for work with stainless steel and specialty alloys, including Hastelloy. The shop is physically separated from our carbon steel fabrication areas, supporting material segregation during production.

Welding and Engineering for Hastelloy Fabrication

Hastelloy Welding Requirements

Hastelloy welding requires attention to joint preparation, filler metal selection and welding conditions appropriate to the specified grade. These requirements form part of the fabrication review, together with dimensional tolerances, examination, testing and material records.

Mechanical Engineering and Code Requirements

Alps Welding provides mechanical design and calculations for vessels and heat exchangers we fabricate, supported by 3D modelling and fabrication drawings.

For pressure equipment, applicable ASME construction, inspection and registration requirements are reviewed for the specified grade and design. Explore our mechanical engineering support and certifications for more information.

Discuss Your Hastelloy Fabrication Project

Looking for a Hastelloy equipment manufacturer for your next industrial project? Send Alps Welding your drawings, specified material grade, equipment dimensions and required delivery date.

Include design pressure and temperature where applicable, along with any inspection, testing and documentation requirements. Our team can review the available information and discuss your fabrication scope.
